Every Campus A Refuge, or ECAR, is a higher-education initiative started in 2015 at Guilford College. Its founder, Diya Abdo, Ph.D., believes in a radical reimagination of higher education and campus life. ECAR has furthered its mission to partner every U.S. higher education institution with local refugee resettlement agencies as co-sponsors to host refugees on campus. ECAR now has 16 chapters across the country - with St. Ambrose University being the first of its kind in Iowa.

Dr. Abdo is visiting St. Ambrose University to host a keynote lecture and discussion about what we all can do to be more inclusive of refugees as a community. In partnership with World Relief Quad Cities and Tapestry Farms, St. Ambrose University is hosting a refugee family from Congo to provide them support as they adjust to life in the United States.
